Finally Ready
Well today was the day that we were able to pass the inspection for the solar installation. This took much longer than I had hoped it would. I have only had the inverter for 2 weeks this afternoon. That’s not too bad I guess considering I spent several days waiting for inspections, and for the power company to move the old meter. I think things are going to work alright, and I’m hopeful that the power company will come out in the next several days and switch out the meter for me. I don’t know how busy they are this time of year, and it may depend on how many people they have out on vacation and such. I’m excited to see how much power we’ll be able to generate, and if we are really able to offset most of our power usage.
The inspector that came out today was an amazing person. He had such a great attitude, and it made the whole process with the city feel good. I almost want to pull a permit for some other project just to keep that guy busy, and to have another chance to work with him. I hope people I work with walk away at least feeling like they could stand talking to me again. I have done some business with folks that if I never see them again it will be too soon. I’ll have to pay close attention to the way I behave when interacting with people. The guy was a great example. I even feel like I need to write to his boss and let him know how much I appreciated the inspection process.
