I glanced at facebook this evening and learned that we lost an old friend today. It turns out he’s been battling cancer for the last little while. I had lost contact with him over the years, but I’ve watched some of his adventures via facebook.
This was a friend that I’d run cross country with. I couldn’t keep up with him. It sure makes me feel a little more of my mortality to have a contemporary pass away from sickness rather than accidents or the like. I feel like I still have a lot of years left, but you just never know.
