One of the many things we did over the holidays this year was to get up to Temple Square. We’ve been there many times before, but it is always a great place to be. The weather was cold as it usually is, but we still had a great time.
I don’t know how they will handle temple square lights in the coming years. With the temple and other parts of the grounds under renovation, I’m not sure if they’ll provide a limited access to see lights on part of the grounds or what. I would be alright if they keep it closed for a few years, and then have a big reopening. We should figure out a way to make the experience a little better for everyone.
This year we didn’t take any of our big cameras with us. I think that worked out well for us. The experience wasn’t any worse than in the years when we’ve taken it with us. I used my phone and captured a few images, but we spent our time taking in the beauty of the scene as much as possible. They do a wonderful job making an amazing place for everyone to see.
It can be difficult managing the many different expectations all the different people have. Some would stay for hours, and others wouldn’t be there at all. With that wide array of interests, it can be quite the challenge. I think we managed pretty well, and it was great to be together as a family.
