One of the boys took these shots of a tree trunk while on a camp out this summer. They have picked up their mother’s love for photography. Getting started at a young age will serve them well. We need to spend some time working with them on some of the fundamentals. They do pretty well without our help.
I think the point of this image is the bug. It looks to me like some sort of beetle. That is pretty interesting, but for me the bark and color in the tree trunk are pretty good subjects in their own right. Tree bark can have amazing texture. there are fascinating lines and shadows. With the right lighting this would be even better.
I’m excited to see what these kids will create as they have time and opportunity to keep practicing. Lissa has a great eye, and I think the kids will be able to follow in her footsteps. Life is great.
